It’s time…to raise our voices, to let us be heard…

I’m not talking about the angry voices that cry out for something or someone to blame or those who say we have to find a way to get rid of this scourge, this autism…

I’m talking about the voices of those who are using treatment interventions and therapies effectively and are creating a bridge to those with autism.

In his inaugural speech speech on Tuesday, President Barack Obama said…"What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task."

What is required of us in the world of autism is a new era of responsibility – it’s time that we look outside of our own situations and ourselves and reach out to all who are touched by autism – offering our support so we can build a community for positive change.

I’m asking all of you to “seize gladly” the opportunity to share your information.  It’s time that we log onto to sites like mine, www.kylestreehouse.org, and share your experiences about our treatment programs.

Why go I want to hear from you?  The best information I’ve ever received on how to help my son came from a mom, not an expert.  My experience is that our “experts” have very little to tell us when it comes to providing information on the most effective treatments and therapy options available today.

What are we going to do?  I challenge you to join me in raising our voices and letting the world know there is help available, and do 3 things:

1.  Log onto Kyle’s Treehouse and rate a treatment.  We want to hear from you. Share your story with Kyle’s Treehouse so that others will feel inspired to do the same.
2.  Pass this on to your friends!  We rely on the help of parents who have been through various treatment options to provide perspective on what has worked and what hasn't.  The more people that know about Kyle's Treehouse, the more information we can provide.
3. Leave me a comment, and let me know why you came to Kyle's Treehouse, and what you found helpful (or what you were trying to find but couldn't).
We know what’s working – and its time for us to believe that we are our child’s own best “expert.”

“… firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task."

Best,
Jenifer
