Film Screening of The Horse Boy

 Permanent link

If you’ve read the amazing The Horse Boy (which you can find under “Recommended Reading” in our Resources section) and live in the Philadelphia area, you may be interested in an upcoming screening of the film adaptation of the book. Rupert Isaacson, the author of the book and movie The Horse Boy, will be on hand on Sunday, December 6, in Bryn Mawr, PA, for a special screening of his film, which will benefit the Thorncroft Equestrian Center.

If you haven’t heard about or read The Horse Boy, it’s a great, true tale of how Rupert and his wife trekked across Mongolia  on horseback all in an effort to help their autistic son, Rowan, by honing in on the healing powers of horses, as well as shamans.  (I wrote about their journey in this previous blog post.)

Here is an outline of what’s lined up for the screening on Dec. 6:

  • Lunch with Rupert at the Verdad Restaurant
  • A screening of “The Horse Boy” at the Bryn Mawr Film Institute
  • Q&A and book signing following the film screening
  • Book signing and dessert at Verdad Restaurant

What does autism mean to us today? It means sharing amazing stories. What about you?

Best,
Jenifer
